A hemorrhagic stroke happens when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, leading to bleeding within or around brain tissue. This bleeding raises intracranial pressure, causing brain damage and loss of function. It is often caused by uncontrolled hypertension, head injury, aneurysms, or vascular abnormalities. Symptoms may include a sudden severe headache, weakness or numbness, vision problems, confusion, or loss of consciousness. Prompt emergency medical care is essential to control bleeding, reduce pressure, and prevent serious complications.
